Primary care physicians (PCP) and specialists such as hematologists both play important roles in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of blood clots, but their roles differ in scope and specificity. We’ll discuss the role of PCPs in the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care of blood clot patients and how patients can take an active role in their health and work effectively with PCPs.
