Amy Kearbey: This Doctor’s ONE Decision Saved My Life

Amy Kearbey

This Doctor’s ONE Decision Saved My Life.

And to everyone that has dedicated their lives to saving others, my family and I are forever grateful.

My name is Amy Kearbey. I am a lawyer. I am a wife. I am a mother to three little boys. I am a grateful to be able to call myself a survivor.

I was a healthy and active 29-year-old. My only symptom was back pain. Never in a million years did I think this could be the sign that my life was hanging in the balance…

Thankfully, I went to see a doctor and he insisted on testing me for a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in my lungs). The results confirmed his instincts were correct and I was immediately admitted to the hospital for emergency treatment.

In honor of National Hospital Week, I want to recognize the incredible doctor that saved my life, as well as the amazing team of doctors who made it possible for me to bring three of the sweetest little boys into our family, with no clots and no complications. My gratitude runs deep, and it’s time to give back.

I support NBCA because I’ve made it my personal mission to empower patients, especially women, with information about blood clots, allowing them to be effective partners with their providers and stay ahead of this PREVENTABLE and potentially deadly disease.

We cannot stand by and do nothing as blood clots kill 8,494 Americans every single month. A gift of any amount will bring us closer to our goal of raising $8,494 for NBCA in May, to represent each of the lives lost. Will you support this meaningful goal by making your donation today? And remember to share why you supported NBCA for our special page of ‘For Every Day in May’ dedications.

Together we can save lives.

Forever grateful,

Amy Kearbey, NBCA Board Member & blood clot survivor

P.S. All gifts up to $8,494 made before May 31 will be matched 2:1. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to TRIPLE the impact of your donation!
