Johns Hopkins 8th Annual VTE Symposium

JohnsHopkinsHospitalThe Johns Hopkins Department of Medicine, in collaboration with the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, presents the 8th Annual Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) Symposium, featuring keynote speaker Richard H. White, MD, who will be discussing Hospital-associated VTE: Findings from observational studies.

Currently, Dr. White is Professor and Chief of General Medicine at the University of California. His clinical interests include anticoagulation therapy and rheumatology. As the director of the University of California, Davis Anticoagulation Service, Dr. White treats patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE) and other conditions requiring oral anticoagulant therapy.

The Johns Hopkins 8th Annual VTE Symposium is taking place on Friday March 4, 2016 at Johns Hopkins Hospital (1800 Orleans Street, Hurd Hall) in Baltimore, Maryland, from 8:00 am – 11:00 am, and will begin with Medical Ground Rounds, featuring Dr. White, followed by a series of short talks showcasing the various VTE-related research studies across Johns Hopkins Medicine. The event will conclude with patients talking about their personal experiences.

The symposium is open to the public.
