March Recognized as Blood Clot Awareness Month Across the U.S.

Throughout March, states and cities across the country — as well as the U.S. Senate — have officially recognized Blood Clot Awareness Month, reinforcing the importance of education and awareness about blood clots. These proclamations highlight the urgent need for increased public understanding of blood clot risks, symptoms, and prevention.

By declaring March 2025 as Blood Clot Awareness Month, these leaders are helping to amplify life-saving messages and ensure their communities are informed about the dangers of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

Blood clots claim up to 100,000 lives annually in the United States, yet many of these deaths can be prevented with greater awareness and early intervention. Symptoms of blood clots can be mistaken for less serious conditions, leading to delayed diagnosis and treatment. Through these official proclamations, we take a step forward in spreading awareness and encouraging individuals to recognize the signs and seek timely medical care.

NBCA extends its heartfelt appreciation to the advocates who ‘Did Their Part to Stop the Clot’ and helped make these proclamations a reality. Their dedication to raising awareness ensures that more people have access to life-saving information.
