World Thrombosis Day (WTD) takes place on Tuesday, October 13. In recognition of WTD 2015, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), are co-hosting a special webinar for healthcare professionals (HCPs) about venous thromboembolism (VTE) and pregnancy.
During this webinar, Dr. Andra James will discuss key issues concerning the occurrence of VTE during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Dr. James is Consulting Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University, where she also has an appointment in the Division of Hematology. She is currently president of the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders and serves on the Medical Advisory Committee of the Platelet Disorders Support Association and the Medical and Scientific Advisory Board of the National Blood Clot Alliance.
